Custom Web Design, Content, and PPC

Steven Harris is something of a legend in the world of law school. This UC Hastings Adjunct professor uses winning strategies to help students from all over the world ace the bar exam, but his website wasn’t pulling its weight. Steven couldn’t even run ads on Google without his domain getting blacklisted.

We believed in the skill and knowledge Calweasel was bringing to the table, so we created a completely new website that would help bring on new students.

The Challenge

When it comes to SEO, keywords are everything. But Calweasel wasn’t ranking for the main keywords that help Steven connect with struggling students.

In addition, working with existing law students virtually proved a difficult task. Steven was forced to drop video lectures on Vimeo, which made the entire process sluggish and difficult to use.

Having to spend his time working around these (and other) inefficiencies left Steven little time to grow Calweasel into the thriving bar tutorial program that we knew it could be!

The Work

We started with a custom website redesign and updated branding (including custom graphics) so Calweasel stood out in the marketplace. When it comes to private tutoring, testimonials are everything, so we featured Steven’s top reviews prominently.

A custom email drip campaign funnels new leads while his new course website allows students to access video lectures quickly and easily. We wanted to make it as simple as possible for students to get the information they need!

We also helped launch Steven’s podcast, Over the Bar – Tips for Law School and Passing the Bar.

The Future

Before coming to us, Calweasel ads were getting blacklisted by Google and Steven had a difficult time adding new students to his courses (and finding time to tutor all of them).

Today, things are looking up! In addition to a thriving private tutoring business, Calweasel is looking forward to virtual webinars and lectures so Steven can take his classroom fully online.

We can’t wait to see what else the future holds for Calweasel!
