World, Meet Team Clarity
You know our work. You love it. But you don’t really know us.
Which is a shame, because Clarity is made up of a bunch of really awesome peeps, some of whom you might never get to meet.
So we decided to change that and introduce you to the faces behind the websites. The people who make it all happen.
This month, we’d love to introduce you to Craig Brooks, our Chief Strategy Officer.
Say Hello, and Let's Get To Work Together
Craig Brooks
What is your education/background?
UCF… Go Knights! Creative Writing focus
If you could give yourself an unofficial title, what would it be?
Wearer of Many Hats
What is the best/most unusual job you’ve ever had?
Ha. “Promotions” for an Entertainment Company.
What is your work philosophy?
Best Case/Worst Case.
It’s how I operate; if you know the best case scenario and worst case scenario for each endeavor, you can’t be surprised by anything.
What do you love most about working for Clarity Creative Group?
The diversity in the work, from custom dog food to lawyers and so many things in between. It’s fun to try ideas in different industries.
What is the coolest project you’ve worked on for Clarity?
Tough. “Cool” is so difficult to describe. The coolest project for me is the next one. I love how we’ve developed as a company and what we are capable of now.
How do you stay organized/productive?
Teamwork [our task management system] and Slack [our team communication system]. It’s the only way.
What fuels you? (Coffee? Recognition?)
Literally both. Coffee daily, for sure.
What small things make your day better?
That coffee tasting right, damn it. Cute texts from my wife are number one, though.
What company do you wish we had as a client?
The Miami Football Dolphins. 🙂
What website do you visit most often?
Yahoo.com or ESPN.com.
Do you have a favorite podcast/blog/publication/etc. to help you keep up with your industry?
Marketing School!
What do you wish our clients knew about you/your job?
We won’t disappear. It’s a problem in our industry. We know it and we fight against it.
Are you more left-brained or right-brained?
All up in the middle.
Do you have any pets?
Two elderly pups.
Do you have a favorite animal?
My Lola, one of those elderly pups. In a grand manner, I’m an animal lover, but the lions are so fun with the fancy manes.
What are your hobbies?
Collecting a variety of things, watching sports, talking about sports, talking in general.
What is your worst habit/quality?
Talking too much.
Do you collect anything?
See above, lol. Sports cards, comics, collectible toys, some coins, all kinds of stuff! Not hoarder level, though. I purge what I do not like and keep what brings me joy thanks to Marie Kondo!
What hobbies would you like to take up if time/money were no issue?
More travel.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with your extra time?
Get more work done!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I like where I am, but if money/time were no concern, I would have homes in places like London, some beautiful Italian city, and maybe Singapore. I’d still be here more than not.
What do you totally geek out over?
Too many things. Pop culture is my jam.
What is your favorite song/band?
Whoa. Can’t choose just one. I go through moods. One month the Hamilton soundtrack is on loop, the next it’s Billy Joel. Next month, Post Malone!
What is your favorite show?
Last Week Tonight and Patriot Act have my attentions right now. Love me some Game of Thrones action.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Las Vegas, NYC, and London.
What is your favorite part of the day?
Night! Specifically late.
Do you have a catchphrase? If so, what is it?
Cool cool cool OR Excellent…maybe Solid. SMH.
What fun fact would most people be surprised to learn about you?
I’m not actually bald, I shave the peaks and dome daily to provide self esteem to other males. I’m generous that way.
What three things would you bring to a desert island?
Wifey, my pillow, and an excellent knife.
If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?
Sign the back of the ticket. People forget, though.
What is the best compliment you’ve ever received?
Too many to recall. Hahahaha. I kid. This one is tough, too. The ones that matter the most come from the closest peeps, so things that the wife say are mucho importante, but so are my other partners, as in business!
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing?
Oh, you know me. I stay busy. I gots me a few other jobs already. I’m working on that focus now.
Clarity Creative Group is a digital marketing company located in beautiful Orlando, Florida. We all love Craig’s wife, too!
